When devastating wildfires swept across Los Angeles County in early 2025, our friends at Common Space Brewing launched a powerful idea: We Love LA—a collaborative brewing fundraiser created to support wildfire relief efforts across the region.
From day one, Firestone Walker was proud to join in from The Propagator, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with breweries throughout California and beyond. We created We Love LA, a West Coast Pilsner brewed with purpose.
What started as a local effort quickly became something much bigger: a movement of brewers, beer lovers, and community members united by one cause—helping LA rebuild.
A Unified Response
Within just two days of its launch, We Love LA grew into a network of more than 117 breweries and wineries, alongside 24 vendor partners, each brewing their own version of the beer to raise funds for wildfire recovery.
Together, the campaign raised $325,797.99, with $295,031.11 donated to the United Way of Greater Los Angeles Wildfire Response Fund, and the remaining $30,766.88 directed to local organizations including the Santa Monica Firefighters Relief Fund, Pasadena Humane Society, California Parks Foundation and others.
This collaboration was inspired by past brewing fundraisers like Sierra Nevada’s Resilience IPA and Maui Brewing’s Kōkua Project, proof that when the craft beer community rallies, meaningful change follows.
Real Relief, Real Results
The We Love LA donations became part of the United Way’s Wildfire Response Fund, which has already provided essential relief for thousands of Angelenos recovering from the Eaton and Palisades fires.
Impact by the Numbers
-
45,000+ people served

-
3,000+ households received essentials like groceries, clean water, and hygiene kits

These efforts addressed immediate needs, from food and shelter to mental health support, while laying the groundwork for long-term recovery.
Rebuilding, Together
The United Way’s next phase of wildfire recovery is focused on healing and rebuilding. In June 2025, the Wildfire Response Fund distributed $1.8 million to seven local organizations helping residents secure housing counseling, financial aid, and disaster recovery assistance.
This includes the launch of the Altadena Community-Driven Collaborative, a coalition of local groups like DENA Heals, LA Voice, and the NAACP Pasadena, now developing a People’s Action Plan—a roadmap for equitable rebuilding and community renewal.
Love in Action
From brewhouses to taprooms, We Love LA represented the very best of the craft beer spirit: community, collaboration, and compassion.
Every pour, every pint, and every donation became part of something greater. A reminder that good beer can do real good.
To everyone who brewed, poured, donated, or raised a glass: thank you. Your generosity helped rebuild lives and restore hope where it was needed most. Thank you to Common Space Brewing for organizing this amazing effort.
Because great beer for a better cause? That’s something we’ll always raise a glass to.
