This year’s World Beer Cup brought home three medals for Firestone Walker – one gold and two bronze.
The World Beer Cup remains the most rigorous competition in our industry. Every year, it draws thousands of entries from breweries across dozens of countries, and every pour is evaluated blind by a panel of brewers from around the world. There is no marketing, no label, no story – only what’s in the glass. For a brewery of any size, recognition at this level is never taken for granted.
For us, these competitions have always been less about accolades and more about calibration — a chance to measure our beers against the best in the world and to make sure we’re still moving in the right direction. The standard we hold ourselves to is simple: brew honestly, brew carefully, and keep learning. When judges who taste thousands of beers in a weekend single out three of ours, we take it as a signal that the craft is in good hands. We’re proud of the work, and more proud of the brewers behind it.
Here’s what came home with us.
Electric Eagle
Bronze in the West Coast IPA Category
West Coast IPA was the largest category at this year’s competition with 293 entries, which makes the recognition particularly meaningful. Brewed by Sam Tierney, Electric Eagle is built on Mosaic, Simcoe, Nelson Sauvin, and Riwaka hops over a lean base of pilsner malt, wheat, and rice. The aroma opens with berry, tangerine, and papaya, rounded out by a hint of crackery malt. Lean body, punchy hop flavor, dry finish.
A well-made West Coast IPA, executed cleanly. Well done, Sam.
Pear Saison
Gold in the Brett Beer Category
Fruited, aged, and blended by Molly Reed at our Barrelworks facility, Pear Saison is a lively, refreshing wild ale that captures the feel of a late summer afternoon. It pours a pale gold beneath a frothy white head, with a nose of freshly mown grass and ripe, juicy pears balanced by a subtle earthy note from the wild yeast. The palate is light and spritzy, a gentle tartness playing against the fruit, smooth effervescence carrying the pear’s natural sweetness, and a clean, refreshing finish.
Only 150 cases were produced, a rare offering, and a deserving one. Congratulations to Molly and the Barrelworks team.
Beauty Everywhere
Bronze in Wood and Barrel-Aged Dessert or Pastry Beer
Brewed by Jordan Ziegler, Beauty Everywhere is a collaborative stout brewed with Everywhere Brewing as a part of our 2026 Brewmasters Collective Beer Club. This beer spent twelve months aging across a selection of ten-year Henry McKenna, nine-year Elijah Craig, and six-year Holladay Soft Red Wheat bourbon barrels. The varied barrel character was chosen deliberately, building depth and cohesion across the blend.
Coconut, marshmallow, and vanilla bean are integrated with restraint – lending softness and roundness rather than sweetness. The barrel-driven structure leads, and every other element is measured in support of it. Built collaboratively, executed deliberately. Our thanks to Jordan and everyone who contributed.
Thank You
Beers like these are the product of many hands: the brewhouse, the cellar, packaging, and every team in between that shows up each day with the same standard. And none of it matters without the people who drink our beer and hold us to that standard in return.
We’ll keep brewing. Cheers.
